The owner is so friendly and the food is AUTHENTIC. Definitely call ahead and make a reservation. We made the mistake of not calling ahead and ended up with no table on a cold rainy night. We were so determined to eat here, we asked the owner if we can dine on the outside tables. He gave us blankets and extended the awning and offered hot tea. The mango salad was very flavorful, the pho bo is very home cooked pho style with the flatter noodles, the king prawn is very good, betel leaf beef wraps are very tasty. The mango sticky rice is hands down the best I've had. Would definitely come back on our next Munich visit.

One of me favorite Vietnamese restaurants in Munich. It's not so casual as the new coming restaurant chains and not so fancy. it has a cozy and familiar atmosphere. Most importantly, the food is amazing! All the recommendations are always spot on and the mixed starter for 2 is great

We had amazing food. I had the mango duck salad and it was even better than I expected, note that it’s spicy. We also had the clay pot duck which was really good.For dessert we had mango sticky rice, which was very different from my expectations but still very good.Loved the flavors and would really recommend. The only think that really bothered me, and almost made me lower the review to 4 stars, was that they charged €3 for a glass of tap water (I get that you need to wash the glass but I’ve never seen €3 as a charge)

It was my first time eating Vietnamese food and the staff was really helpful in recommending something they thought I would enjoy according to my likes and dislikes. The service was great and the food was very interesting and tasteful. Would recommend to anyone. Don't forget to make a reservation because it's a small place and it gets crowded.

Yummy food ! Very nice vegetarian and non-vegetarian options to choose from. Very friendly and quick service... Option to eat with both chopsticks or the conventional fork-knife. Good to reserve if coming for dinner since it is usually quite full. Definitely recommended !

After two weeks in Germany we are really dying for Asian food. This place does not disappoint. It is not exactly authentic Vietnamese food but it tastes good. The soup of pho is surprisingly good.

The best Pho Bo in Ludwigsvorstadt, the owners are absolutely great, they make you feel home, I've been treated like family

Very very good food. I was also surprised by the languages that the waiter (I think the owner) spoke. Our mixed international group was served in both French and English.

Small, but cozy restaurant with authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Large bowl of beef noodle soup for about €14 and beef with vermicelli noodle salad with a vegetable springroll was about €9. We finished lunch off with a nice dessert of warm coconut 'soup' with sweet potato, yam, coconut meat, topped off with roasted sesame seeds. It was a bit expensive at €4.50, but was with the treat.

Did not wait around long to be served, meal showed up promptly. An excellent range of food within the menu, usually has plenty of dishes to select from and new meals added by the chefs all the time. Good food, plenty of options, would recommend. Many thanks so much for making our family special event absolutely wonderful! My brother had an excellent birthday, we will be coming back again. Service was fantastic and totally enjoyed the food, will be coming back.

Really small place but very good food. You also don't have to wait long for your food to arrive. It gets quite crowded, so be prepared for that.

Amazing food every time. Good lunch offerings, great appetizers. Try the Vietnamese coffee with the condensed milk, and in the summer, you must try the homemade ice tea.

Real Vietnamese Restaurant with super tasty food, decent portions and fair prices

This was a fantastic little neighbirhood place with authentic Vietnamese cuisine. The place is very very small with only 25 seats inside, so you need to make reservations if you want to make sure to get seated. We had the pork spring rolls that come with plenty of veggies to wrap with. The fried shrimp were ok, but a little gooey on the inside. The pho Bo was great. I highly recommend this place.

Absolutely delicious! We ordered the large pho and the duck clay pot. The vegetables were extremely fresh and they included a large selection of fresh herbs just like in Vietnam with the meal. The pho and the duck both tasted amazing.

Small family restaurant serving excellent Vietnamese food. They offer a big variety of traditional Vietnamese dishes which tastes fantastic and their service is superb. I usually get the Ha Koa dumplings or the beef spring rolls for starter. For the main course I can recommend the crispy duck with curry sauce and vegetables. I absolutely love their food. Deserts are not bad either and if you feel like having coffee afterwards try something new and go for their traditional Vietnamese coffee with milk. Just make sure to reserve a table because the place is always fully booked. We went there several times already and even had a Christmas party there and always enjoyed it. Looking forward to many more stays.

Authentic, delicious Vietnamese cuisine (best I've had in Munich for sure!) in a small cosy place that feels like a family restaurant. The bun bowls (I tried the one with beef in betel leaf and the fish in two visits) were fresh and full of flavors, the meat was great - all in all, reminded me of Vietnam!

Very nice little neighbourhood restaurant with only 25 seats inside and a few seats outside, we didn't have a reservation and were lucky to get a table! The food was delicious, especially the vietnamese spring rolls served with fresh herbs and the Pho Bo (got the the large portion, yummy!!). Not so great were the fried shrimp wrapped in potato, they weren't crispy enough. The service was very attentive but too fast to clear up the plates, I felt a little rushed. They did need the table but still not cool. Overall a very good place that I would recommend.

Delicious food ~

I came here when traveling for work back a couple of years ago. I always look for Vietnamese food that reminds me of food my mom makes. This place is great for good food and quality service. all of the food is solid. pho was good. we also got the c1 was amazing.

A bit tasteless and expensive compared to the food quality.

We visited vietnam 2 years ago and ate in many fantastic 5 star restaurants during our 3 week stay. Nam Giao is as good as these restaurants. Its a true gem of Munich and I highly recommend a visit!!!

4 stars for the food, 3 stars for the prices, and 2 stars for the service.

Reading the reviews we came here with high expectations, but we left feeling kinda disappointed. Food was OK and fresh with generous portions, but didn’t taste that much. When asking for tap water we couldn’t get any and had to pay 5,50 euros (although it looked like the guests around us managed to get plain water). All in all a decent restaurant, but nothing spectacular.

A small restaurant on a quiet street, it is a good idea to book ahead for parties larger than two. We were lucky to get a spot as it was soon packed with customers. The service was very friendly and the food came out super fast. The food quality was good, with generous portion sizes. I tried the Vietnamese pancake and was pleasantly surprised to find an abundance of prawns inside. With its crispy outer shell and great taste, I was very happy with this food experience.
